Turning the Tide: Port Workers Newsletter
Coming together in September 2012 a core group of Port of Oakland union workers including Laborers, Sailors Union of the Pacific (SUP), ILWU, SEIU 1021 as well as unorganized truckers and their supporters in the Teamsters union came together with Occupy Oakland Labor Solidarity members to organize the Oakland Port Workers Assembly. The assembly has been meeting regularly and organizing support for union actions at the Port. Supporting the organizing efforts of the unorganized truckers and warehouse workers, and supporting the ILWU and SEIU in their contract fights are on the agenda of this assembly. The assembly publishes and distributes Turning the Tide: Port Workers Newsletter to port workers. We link to this document here for our readers reference.
