U.S. Ruling class initiates illegal war:
To defend the petrodollar and the declining U.S. empire, Trump has willingly stumblefucked into ‘regime change’ war against Iran with the potential of becoming WWIII. Breaking Iran from BRICS, ending the trade for oil in Yuan, and clearing all obstacles to a ‘greater Israel’ are the primary goals; the stated goals are fluid as these cowboys are shooting from the hip.
Their ultimate target is China, which is “eating our lunch” economically while the administration tries one fiscal and/or trade stunt after another. Trump asked for a $1.5 trillion bump upping the 2027 military budget before the latest imperialist adventures. He’s spending a billion a day on his friends and none of the “representative” people seem to be willing or know how to stop him.
Evidence suggests he is blackmailed by the Mossad. They have the unredacted Epstein files! The judicial logic known as reasonable ‘inference of guilt’ implicates Trump and his DOJ for redacting and slow walking release of the Epstein Files. No one is fooled by this charade; they flagrantly violate the very law he signed. Political commentators across the world label this war Trump’s ‘Epstein Fury’. Trump’s pedophilia predicament coincides not only with the long term Zionist project but with the flailing U.S. imperialists’ attempt to reclaim hegemony over the international oil market.
Rubio’s pathetic attempt last week to pull Europe kicking and screaming into a war drive to reclaim the Global South is exploding in Trump’s face. Spain and others (gingerly) back away from participation and complicity. Escalating Rubio’s Munich rhetoric, Trump denies Spanish sovereignty asserting “we could use their base if we want….” The core EU/NATO powers already have their hands full propping up their Ukraine proxy war. Carney’s imperialist Canada has signaled the formation of a third imperialist bloc of those Commonwealth nations less inclined to participate in Trump’s crusade and more interested in trade opportunities with China and BRICS.
Who Benefits?
Trump loves manipulating financial markets to create entry points for his family and cronies using insider information, shorting markets on the news and subsequently buying the dip Trump’s erratic actions create; but that’s only the grifters share. It’s not just the nutjobs and cronies of the Trump machine who stand to profit by the war adventure. The capitalist class is fully vested in maintaining and expanding that corruption. The breadth and depth of the corruption exposes the fact that top politicians (like Trump, Pelosi, Clinton) are allowed and encouraged to inside trade, grift and coerce emoluments.
The capitalists get their legislation and contracts by paying off politicians on the take. Follow the money: the Democrats just like the Republicans are funded by the Israel lobby and the Military Industrial Complex (MIC). In turn the politicians use the military power of the state to defend the capitalists’ ‘right’ to exploit the workers of the world and the commons for their private profits. This only works as long as workers don’t fight back!
To fight back workers need to turn the unions into schools of revolution
We must dismiss undemocratic and unaccountable union leaders who collaborate with the bosses and undermine and sell out our fight. We say the class struggle exists in germ form on every job site. Class consciousness is ignited as workers unite to defeat the bosses’ rule on the job, in the law and against their outrageous state violence. We must build class struggle action committees to direct and focus the emergent militancy to take up a transitional program of workers’ demands and lead the fight for them against the “Labor Lieutenants of Capital” within the workers movement.
Purveyors of enemy class consciousness
The union bureaucrats entrenched in the Democratic party, ‘left critics’ and even many self proclaimed socialists refuse to reject the capitalist system or even identify the capitalist class as the only beneficiaries of war and the enemy of humanity. They shy away from identifying capitalism as the problem, instead they implicate the billionaires and Epstein class as an unfortunate anomalous consequence of ‘liberty and democracy’. For the top union leaders, the Democrats, and social Democrats, keeping capitalism intact after Trump is ousted is the plan; no need to castigate capitalism as a whole! Just tax the billionaires and expose a few of the Epstein pedo’s and leave a cleansed capitalism in power! This is a formula for “endless” wars of conquest, the meat and potatoes of a fascist era. Ineffectual oppositions of pacifist constitutionalism, or “true christian” decency, or red flag popular frontism of class surrender or exclusively identity-democratic sectoral programs will not deliver liberation for any exploited social layer. We fight for our entire social class. To do less is to lose.
Therefore…
There is no future for humanity under capitalism in today’s terminal crisis which can only sustain itself by fascism and war. There’s no reason for workers to accept imperialist wars. We need productive jobs that serve human and environmental needs, not AI and military industries of destruction and death for profits. The Military Industrial Complex and AI are at the center of the U.S. ruling class’ existence and fate today. In our Capitalist economy there is no production sector rivaling the war industries for making as much profit for them, so war is on their agenda as a recurring imperative. The confluence of the Epstein predicament and the decline of the petro dollar make the particular chemistry that exploded in the war against Iran. The Greater Israel dimension and the danger to Trump’s ambitions posed by files the Mossad keeps secret is what distinguishes this war from Trump’s takeover of Venezuela.
As the war proceeds China and Russia are being drawn deeper into the conflict which can potentially impact the class character of the war changing it to an inter-imperialist war not unlike Ukraine with Iran becoming the proxy. At this point Russia and China provide logistics, material and intelligence support and the character of the war remains that of a semi-colony-defending itself from the declining imperialist hegomon. As such workers must defend Iran.
Iran is a junior member of the Russia/China bloc which naturally trades for oil in Yuan. Oil paid in Yuan, not dollars cost profits diverted away from the U.S. ruling capitalist class, and thus the loans they live off. This hurts the western banks as much as the oil companies. For the U.S. ruling class to maintain their fortunes and lifestyles, these deals must be paid in dollars. The oil, whether in the ground or in control of the trade or in sales is the collateral of the private jet set.
The anti-war wing of the Democrats easily ignore the fact that the party leadership: Schumer and Jefferies et al., are deep in hock to the Israel lobby; they uphold a decades old tradition of using Israel as the U.S. foothold in the region while allowing the recycled U.S. tax dollars sent to Israel to come back into their election PAC’s and coffers in a corrupt reciprocity. To assuage those with illusions that the constitution is, or has been in effect, they play out a drama to call the war powers of congress back from the ‘unitary executive’ which they long ago handed their powers over to. They sold the hope that this vote would work to invoke their powers when they all knew it would not work. First it failed in the senate, where they could not even hold their caucus together. The House vote that followed was a farce as Trump was never going to sign it even if it did pass. The bipartisan Congress granted power to the unitary executive over the decades since Korea and this is what they have wrought. The MAGA dominated Congress might get around to getting authorization like LBJ after the Gulf of Tonkin, or maybe not even bother.
Hegseth stated that the U.S. would ignore “those stupid rules of engagement”. The recent Indian naval exercise ended with a U.S. submarine sinking an unarmed Iranian ship. The U.S. submarine left the crew to drown-a blatant war crime. This was a racist sneak attack that had to be ordered by Hegseth. The Trump administration displays utter imperialist arrogance stating that they want to determine who the next leader of Iran will be, while Netanyahu promises to kill the next leader. Now Trump says the U.S. and Israel require an “unconditional” surrender,” so there’s no hope of any ceasefire!
U.S. Isolation:
Iran has an existence as a civilization that is millenia old. Israel is a colony of the USA founded in 1948. The Gaza genocide example has driven the sympathies of the masses worldwide away from the U.S. side. Only the comprador flunkies in the countries hosting U.S. bases still support U.S. imperialism against Iran and that support puts targets on their backs now! In every dependent nation the question raised by this war is ‘what is our flag independence worth?’
The masses of the global south do not wish to be on the U.S. target list in perpetuity or now either! Very few countries have or could possibly afford reasonably effective or even the available defensive means. Their best defense would be to close all imperialist bases! Meanwhile, traditional allies of the U.S. have shown tepid and small-scale support, if any, for war on Iran. But let’s look at what the U.S. majority, the working population have to say.
They ask: how did anyone believe that Congress would shut down Trump’s war of choice? Congress has done nothing of consequence to defend its Constitutional powers since Trump has returned to office. The votes by these “representative” suits are not there in anything like the necessary ⅔ plus one vote to override a Trump veto. We have a war that can’t be stopped unless the working class stops it!
We support all emergency mobilizations to defend Iran. As against the toothless Democrat’s “No Kings” mobilization scheduled for March 28th, we call for A GENERAL STRIKE which explicitly poses the question of questions, WHICH CLASS WILL RULE!? This means facing the fact of force: our class needs its own, a proletarian military policy. Simply put, we need defense organization of every form and forms prioritized to meet the class enemy violence we face. The lessons of Minneapolis, 1934 and 2026 show us we need Union-initiated, disciplined Labor-Black-Brown Community Defense Guards. Smash ICE!
For the United Front to break the Popular Front
Which class will rule? This is the question of our epoch! Side by side with capitalist politicians who say they are Trump opponents are the Union leaderships tied to them and sharing their class-political identity. Therefore at every crisis moment– and this is a crisis!– they retail a “popular front,” a national unity that leaves the political initiative entirely in the hands of bourgeois power “representatives.” The top union bureaucrats are far from alone in foisting this course on us. There are plenty of self-styled “socialists” peddling this poison pap!
Workers keep being put up to delusions that Democrats will break with their imperialist track record and stop imperialist wars and the power of the unitary executive, which they handed over on a platter, funding the executive’s hubris for decades. This is the work of the Popular Front which keeps the workers from taking up their own program and building their own party. The workers’ class independent United Front must be built today to form our fighting workers labor party, to mobilize defense against fascism and to organize the workers’ fight against imperialist wars.
DSA Mythology recycles the Popular Front blocking working class independence
The DSA mythology is the ghost of the German social democrat Bernstein shrouded in class struggle rhetoric. Bernstein’s economism rejected the socialist revolution, replacing it with bourgeois parliamentarianism where the working class brings its power as a party of the class into parliament and loses it there. The DSA actually works to keep the working class from creating its own party, leaning heavily on the persuasive power of media stars like AOC, Bernie and Mamdani to rally the credulous inside the cross-class popular front Democratic Party. November is still many outrages away!, but experience has not shaken their belief in primaries or elections. They say trust us, write us a check. Then leave our class helpless.
While the masses say Abolish ICE the Democrats want a ‘kinder gentler’ ICE
See how the Democrats behave. Just as the polls show the masses have turned against ICE with 50% polling to Abolish ICE, the Democratic House Minority Leader Jefferies has signaled that the demotion of Kristi Noem was a welcome concession for the Democrats who will happily fund the ICE gestapo pending enactment of reforms including body camera mandates, bans on face masks and new warrant requirements for home invasions and arrests. This is why we never tire of repeating that the Democrats pave the road for the fascist power and imperialist projects.
Likewise:
There was not an audible peep out of them while Biden was funding the genocide of Gaza, and now as the long term plan for a greater Israel from the Euphrates to the Mediterianian is under way they show they have no intention or strategy for regaining control over war powers. After decades of bi-Partisan abdication of that power the MAGA pundits rub the Democrats’ noses in it like one would a dog who peed on the carpet. Only the working class has it in its class interest to stop imperialist wars!
Elections do not determine policy, and with Big Capital frightened at the overvaluation of the stock market and the MIC now the single guaranteed source of orders in this tariff environment, elections cannot deliver either peace or reforms. Like the AFL-CIO bureaucracy that supplies much of their campaign funds and even more of their volunteers, the Democrats’ DSA wing has little hope that is factual economics to sell to the voters. The staggering prices leap upwards in this war they cannot stop.
Workers need our own party and program that is not beholden to Capital whatsoever! For Workers to survive, imperialism must die! This won’t happen by itself; we have to build our own party and fight for power, for a workers’ government!
The Main Enemy is at Home Right here in the U.S…..it is “our” Capitalist Class!
